Lighter Journeys: journey and task effort analysis
See where a task gets hard, straight from the recording.
For UX researchers, product managers and documentation teams who watch recordings of people using their product. Upload a narrated screen recording and Lighter Journeys marks the moments that took the most effort, with links that jump to the exact second.
Lighter Journeys is in a private preview. Invited people can sign in; everyone else can join the waitlist.
1. Record one task, thinking aloud
Two to five minutes of someone using your product and saying what they are doing. Any screen recorder with a microphone works.
2. Upload the recording
Analysis takes roughly as long as the recording; a short clip takes a few minutes.
3. Jump to where it got hard
A timeline of effort, the transcript and highlights, each linked to the exact second of the video.
What Lighter Journeys measures today
- From the video: how long each part of the task took, and when the person moved between apps, pages or windows (an early signal that is still being tuned).
- From the narration: a transcript, and whether what was said sounds positive, neutral or negative. This is about the words spoken, not a measure of how anyone felt.
- Clicks, scrolls and typing are experimental: they are hidden in reports unless you ask for them.
- The Effort Score is experimental too: a relative indicator for comparing sessions of the same task, not a validated measure of workload.
